A triptych work, built with multiple layers of folded Xuan paper and adhesive, creates an undulating natural texture, accented with tones of loess and acrylic washes. The soft, fragile layers of paper intertwine with the heavy, earthy loess. The scattered folds serve as a metaphor for life's hardships; the reserved white spaces of the Xuan paper foundation represent the enduring hope within adversity – the upward strength that rises from ordinary soil.
